BPGHS NPCC UNIT
welcome.
to bpnp's blog.
make yourself welcome here. :]
Formed in 1961, BPGHS NPCC grew over the years and finally managed to be a gold unit in 2005. Still a part of Area 16 in 1997, BPGHS joined some competitions like the inter-unit soccer league for Area 16 then. During that year, 16 of our senior cadets were selected to participate in the NDP at the National Stadium. After which, BPGHS NPCC unit made a significant leap in performance from 1997 to 1998. More cadets were recruited and more achievements could be seen. In 1999, our unit managed to clinch a Bronze for the Unit Proficiency Award and 19 NCOs were given the NYAA Bronze by the then Defence Minister. Moving on to year 2000, BPGHS NPCC unit managed to clinch the champion title for the Area 16 Inter-unit campcraft Competition.
Over the years, BPGHS NPCC had grown from a small unit to what it is now. With the help of our TOs, HOs, CIs and NCOs, BPGHS NPCC unit managed to clinch a Gold for the UOPA this year. Without the effort done by everyone, this achievement would not be possible. Thus, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who had contributed to our unit’s achievement. May BPGHS NPCC unit always unite!!

.22 Shooting Competition 2007
This year, I felt really honoured to be part of our .22 revolver shooting competition team. On 1st June, the girls and boys team went to represent the school for the preliminary round. We tried our best and we attained a total score of around 442 for the girl’s team while the boy’s team also managed to attain a total score above 400 points. After a few days, we received great news that the girls team managed to fit in into the top 10 units which were required to compete in the finals. All of us were really excited as we managed to move on to the next level. Getting into the finals was already a goal achieved for us as we had broken the record. Last year’s batch only managed to be in the 11th position. Thus, the satisfaction we got was indescribable. I could see that each and every one of the girls took the competition seriously. We exercised our hand muscles almost everyday and we took our Sir’s tips into consideration. Finally the day came. I think the final round was held on the 20th July at Home Team Academy. When I first stepped in into the building, I was surprised to see that the competition was a grand one. No doubt, the settings and the tense atmosphere added to my nervousness. They even have cameras for the supporters to see from outside the shooting range. At first, I felt quite inferior as our unit did not bring any supporters along. However, we promised each other to do our best and try to win something back for our unit. The girl’s team was left alone with other units in the shooting gallery. The air was so tense and I got really nervous at one point of time. However, we encouraged each other and I was glad that I could feel the team spirit and teamwork within our girl’s team. This time round, we attained a total score of above 500 points. I was really proud of our team as we had improved over time. After all the units completed their shoot, it was results time when Ma’am informed us that we won the second place for shooting! I felt great and all our efforts and time were not wasted. I felt really good as I managed to win something for the unit together with my squad mates. I treasured those moments with the girls as I felt that that was a time whereby I got close to them and know more about them. We went through the practices together and I thought that we really deserved it. This shooting competition has exposed me to a greater experience. It also gave me a chance to contribute to the achievements of the unit. I wish to participate more in competitions because I hope to learn more things through experiences like this. This competition has helped me to gain more confidence and it made me believe that success is achieved through hard work.
